I really loved Pam's story for World Literature Today. Thanks so much for recognizing it!
(Frozen) (Thread)

It's nice to see her writing short fiction.

Wow. Thanks, Ellen!
(Frozen) (Thread)

You're welcome (whoever you are ;-) )
(Frozen) (Parent) (Thread)

*ahem* In case you haven't heard of it before, thought I'd point out an LJ feature called "lj-cut":

http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=75&q=lj-cut

It's handy for longish posts.

Thanks for the useful list!
(Frozen) (Thread)

Yup. I use it often ;-) Just didn't think of it for a list.
(Frozen) (Parent) (Thread)

Hey, it's nice for the list to be there in the open! I'm not such a big fan of cuts, especially for stuff that most people will want to look at, rather than for stuff that one might well prefer to skip.
(Frozen) (Parent) (Thread)

Sometimes I use cuts but they're a real big pain. Every time I have to look up how to create one and if I'm in a rush, it's just one thing preventing me from getting the post out there.

Thanks so much Ellen! I'm honored to be part of this list, and always love to see titles that point me to stories and venues/anthologies I may have missed during the year!
(Frozen) (Thread)

You're welcome, Norman. And that's why I continue to think it's an important list.
(Frozen) (Parent) (Thread)

Holy [insert various expletives here]! Thanks for mentioning my poem, "In the Hot Zone." The first draft of that poem dates back to--I'm not making this up--3/12/1991, twenty years ago this very day. It was simply called "Dream Poem." It gathered a few rejections back then and then languished in my files for a couple decades before finding a home last year under the new title.

Thanks again, this is a great surprise.
(Frozen) (Thread)

Scott,
Wow! I'm impressed with your persistence. Congrats.
(Frozen) (Parent) (Thread)

Six months of persistence with nineteen and a half years of laziness in between, but I take what I can get!
(Frozen) (Parent) (Thread)

Thanks for including "Barewolf," Ellen. I'm very honored!
(Frozen) (Thread)

You're very welcome, Daniel. It's a thrill for me to mention writers whose work is new or relatively new to me.

Ellen, thank you so much for giving "Ms. Jennings' Family" a mention! I'm honored to be on the same list with so many authors I respect and admire.
(Frozen) (Thread)

You're welcome Gregory.
(Frozen) (Parent) (Thread)

Thanks for the mention - you've made my year, possibly my decade. My preferred spelling of my name is Jayaprakash Satyamurthy, but really, any version is fine!
(Frozen) (Thread)

I'm so sorry for the misspelling. Fixed now. ( I think)
(Frozen) (Parent) (Thread)

It's fine now, thanks! No need to apologise - it is a non-Anglo name and both transcriptions are equally valid.
(Frozen) (Parent) (Thread)

I'm just wondering if I typed it incorrectly or if it was incorrect on the site :-).
(Frozen) (Parent) (Thread)

Wow, thank you very much for the HMs Ellen! Much appreciated!

Best wishes

This is wonderful news- thank you so much Ellen!
All the best,

(Frozen) (Thread)

You're very welcome Priya. And by the way, your story was on my short list when I was making final decisions--I really liked it a LOT.
(Frozen) (Parent) (Thread)

Thank you for including my short story "Wild with Hunger" in this year's honorable mentions. Indeed, it is an honor to appear alongside so many fine authors and poets. Thank you, also, for continuing to compile this list: It looks as though I'm going to have to do some shopping. - LCZ
(Frozen) (Thread)

You're very welcome.
(Frozen) (Parent) (Thread)

What an honour! I had no idea I was on this, with so many awesome writers
