October 2 Saturday 1:30-2:30
Riffing on Lovecraft

H.P. Lovecraft has been an inspiration to writers since he created his mythos and his Elder Gods. Generations of writers have used his creations to write their own interpretations of his work--some in pastiches that stayed close to the original texts, others in wholly original works that take Lovecraft's mythos and twists it into very modern and sometimes almost unrecognizable forms. Meet some of the contemporary writers who are playing in Lovecraft's universe but making it their own. Editor Ellen Datlow hosts a round table discussion with writers Caitlin R. Kiernan, Marc Laidlaw, Ed Morris, Robert M. Price, and Michael Shea.

Saturday 4:30-5:30 Group Reading

Lovecraft Unbound edited by Ellen Datlow is an award-nominated anthology of new stories inspired by H.P. Lovecraft. Ellen will host a group reading by some of the contributors to the volume: Marc Laidlaw, Michael Shea, and Caitlín R. Kiernan.

October 3 Sunday 4:30-5:30 What Editors Crave

Editors unlock some of their arcane secrets about why they started a magazine, how they assemble an anthology, and what horrors they seek. With Ellen Datlow, Scott Allie, James R. Beach, Victoria Blake, Scott Glancy, and Shawna Gore.

There might also be some autographings, official or unofficial, not sure yet. I'll be bringing some of my horror titles with me. (presumably, Dark Horse will be selling Lovecraft Unbound in the dealer's room. Any specific requests, let me know and I'll see if I can dig up copies.
